$ 622,102 for mangroves in 4 W-African countries

For PRCM we developed the Mangroves for Climate and Oceans project that is funded by the Rockefeller Foundation ($ 622,102 for 3 years). In this project, local organizations in Mauritania, Guinea Conakry, Senegal and Guinea Bissau restore, increase and protect mangrove forests. The local communities that are living in the areas are supported with investments in their local economy. They get technical support in mangrove-friendly activities like beekeeping and cultivation of oysters. Detoriorated rice fields are rehabiliated. In return, the communities help to grow and protect the mangroves. The project is executed by PRCM and its local partners.
