€ 1.9 million for premium rice on Java

Van Marwijk Advies successfully raised funds for a  € 1.9 million rice project; ICCO and partners will train and coach 10,000 farmers in Central Java to produce and market high premium rice, using certified seeds and organic inputs. The position of women entrepreneurs, farmers and laborers will be improved. Van Marwijk Advies managed proposal development, attracted a new influential partner and wrote the proposal and business plan, together with Peter Commandeur. Local companies, farmer organizations and NGO’s are all contributing, in kind and in cash. The proposal is funded by the Dutch government (FDOV facility, RVO).
