Kwale and Kilifi counties are hotspots for sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism. Systemic poverty and unemployment are key drivers, but also the deep rooted societal norms .
Van Marwijk Advies assisted Terre des Hommes Kenya with writing Building a Future: a project to reduce sex trafficking in Kenya. Young victims will be supported to return to school and older victims will be trained for finding a job. Communities and schools will be mobilized to prevent children-at-risk from trafficking. The project will be funded by the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery
