€ 61,000 for marine research in Senegal

In the coming years BP would like to support marine research in Senegal, to help map and understand the ecology and the resilience (tolerance to human activities including from the oil and gas sector) of the marine and coastal environment, in particular in the marine area between Dakar and Saint Louis in the North.

On behalf of PRCM, Van Marwijk Advies wrote a proposal for the first phase of this project: a review of existing research activities and stakeholders needs in the area. This is being funded by BP (€ 61,000). In this first phase Van Marwijk Advies will research possible funding opportunities from other donors.
