$ 728,801 to end sexual exploitation of children in Kenya

Kwale and Kilifi counties are hotspots for sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism. Systemic poverty and scarce income opportunities are key drivers, but also the deep rooted societal norms.

Van Marwijk Advies assisted Terre des Hommes with writing BUILDING A FUTURE: a project to end sex trafficking in hotspots in Kenya. Young victims of sexual exploitation are supported to return to school and older victims are trained to find a job. Communities and schools are mobilized to prevent children-at-risk from trafficking. This $728,801 project has been funded by the US Global Fund to End Modern Slavery (GFEMS)
